About Ali Banat’s Legacy
Ali Banat’s Legacy is part of the Muslims Around the World network, a family of Islamic websites. Each one does one job and tries to do it well.
Why we made this site
Ali Banat’s story moved millions of people to give, to let go of this world and to work for the sake of Allah. This site keeps his story, his talks and his message in one place, told carefully and only from published sources, so that he is remembered accurately, so that the next generation can find him, and so that everyone who does can make dua for him.
Food and water aid reaches families in need, with every pound shown.
If you knew him
If you knew Ali Banat and see something here that should be corrected, or a published source or talk we should add, please tell us through muslimsaroundtheworld.org. We would rather say less than say something that is not true.
Where everything comes from
- His story and his work
- Told only from published reporting, each fact naming its report in the same paragraph: SBS News and The National (1 June 2018), The National’s editorial (2 June 2018), NOS (1 June 2018), BBC News Indonesia (7 June 2018), UK Fundraising (9 November 2016), AboutIslam (2017 and 2019), OnePath Network (2015 and 2018) and the TRT World Citizen Awards. Where reports disagree, as they do on his age and birthplace, we leave the detail out. Nothing is added from memory or hearsay.
- His talks
- Shown as OnePath Network and Islam Channel published them on YouTube, with their own titles, dates and descriptions. View counts are the ones YouTube showed on 11 October 2026. Each video loads from YouTube only when you press play.
- Our explanations
- Written by Muslims Around the World. Every sentence about what Islam teaches names its source in the same paragraph: a verse of the Quran, or a hadith with its collection and number. We only cite hadith numbers we have confirmed in the source data behind muslimsaroundtheworld.org, and we don’t give rulings of our own; where scholars differ, we say so.
- Quran verses and duas
- The Arabic of each verse is the King Fahd Complex mushaf text (Hafs), from Quran.com’s data; duas are from Hisn al-Muslim by Sa‘id al-Qahtani. Both are checked letter for letter against those files before a page is published.
Who runs it
Ali Banat’s Legacy is made by Muslims Around the World. It is free, has no third-party adverts and needs no account. Every site in the family is listed on the Muslims Around the World sites page. Before any page here is published, an automatic review checks every verse and dua against its source letter for letter, and makes sure each statement about what Islam teaches carries its reference. If you spot a mistake, please tell us through muslimsaroundtheworld.org.
Muslims Around the World is protecting the legacy of Ali Banat, may Allah have mercy on him, and every site in the family is part of that work. Read his story.
